Privacy Policy.

Who we are

Shoot Day is a service operated by Big Wave Content LLC (“Shoot Day,” “we,” “us”) at shootday.io. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Shoot Day, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and password (stored hashed) when you sign up. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
  • Creator profile information. If you apply as a creator, we collect your handle, bio, photography gear, primary neighborhood, sample work, and the information you provide in your application.
  • Booking information. The dates, locations, briefs, gear tiers, and messages associated with bookings you make or accept on the platform.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or bank account details on our servers. We do store Stripe customer and account identifiers, payout records, and transaction amounts.
  • Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps) so we can keep the service running and detect abuse.

How we use information

  • To operate the booking marketplace and process payments.
  • To verify creator applications and maintain a vetted roster.
  • To send you transactional emails (booking requests, payment receipts, schedule changes, account notices).
  • To prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations.
  • To improve the product based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to train third-party advertising models.

Who we share information with

  • The other party in a booking. When you book a creator (or accept a booking as a creator), the other party sees your name, contact information, and the booking details necessary to do the shoot.
  • Service providers. Supabase (authentication and database), Railway (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Resend (transactional email). Each processes data only on our behalf and is contractually bound to confidentiality.
  • Legal compliance. If required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Booking records and payment history are retained for at least seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations. You can request account deletion at any time by emailing us at the address below; we will delete personal information that is not required to be retained for legal reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@shootday.io.

Children

Shoot Day is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through the product.
